| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai-LyyVdwM4 (how to build a vegas) *note its not advisable to always stack up pieces on the side while you wait for the one you need Took me a little over 8 seconds to build the following. It comes out as a Vegas X 2. Follow the build arrows. To get ultimate sails, its not only how big you combo, but how quickly you do it. An easy practice to give yourself is this: Build a double and clear it Build a triple and clear it Build a bingo and clear it Build a donkey and clear it. Try to do this all on one board. Clearing only one platform at a time When you can do this easily, start adding a vegas, and then a veg 2. If you do this repeatedly, you will train yourself how to combo quickly and easily. You will also get ultimate. |

| Vegas is nice and all but if you struggle making ultimate combos like that smaller combos are good too. That is what Locksy does. (an amazing sailor from an old crew) Smaller combos are also good when starting the first leagues to get you up to excellent faster. I am a legendary sailor and I have never gotten a vegas in it so don't feel intimidated. |

| I felt Aedia's tips were good, but here's my Personal Crew Sailing Guide by yours truly, Tomrizzo. Few have ever seen it, and I promise that it has helped many of my crew mates get there Ultimates. - Tomrizzo wrote:

Sailing
Sailing is all about timing like so many other puzzles in Puzzle Pirates are. You're sailing along and your sail is all sparkly and then all of a sudden it falls to nothing. Here's how to avoid this dilemma:
1) Singles actually hurt your score in Sailing; so they are a waste like so many other puzzles.
2) Singles and doubles are useless, unless you are out of moves.
3) Bingos or higher = Incredible. Learn how to make bingos and how to optimize each board.
;)" Ah! I've messed up, what do I do?Alright, so we've all done it, myself included. None of us are pefect; but here's a little Sage-like knowledge from this salty sailor. A big part of sailing (other than making chains) is NOT clearing single rows. Single clears hurt you. The worst thing you can do after a big mistake is start clearing the junk out; if you need room, quickly make a double to clear the messed up pieces. Here's an image of a yicky horizontal clear gone terrible wrong (you can see the booch in red) and here's salvaging the booch into a Vegas^2: Okay, I can get Bingo's....how can I do better?Hee hee, this is what makes Tomrizzo; Tomrizzo. I absolutely love tagging cheap single breaks to the end of my combo. Is how a Bingo quickly becomes a Vegas. Wow, these are some big breaks. What else can I do?Aye, Big breaks are great, but sailing is all timing and chaining. I leave you with this complicated looking (but simple to make) Vegas^4 to show that even little breaks can grow into some awesome combinations. [/quote]

| I play sails quite differently. I use smaller combos of 2s and 3s and occasionally a bingo this gets you going faster and is especially helpful when starting out. I am an ultimate sailor who has never gotten a vegas sailing...
I must play this puzzle really fast or something. Any ideas? I do know there are other ultimate sailors who play like I do. Depending on how long it takes you to set up a vegas it may be better to do smaller combos. |

I got my Ultimate that way too Crabcake. I make larger ones now....but just make bingos and you'll get there.

| Sails = sucketh That is all. Okay, seriously, it doesn't really matter how you do it. What matters is that you do, so that your bnavver (that's usually me) doesn't have to whine about tokens! ^_^ Consistancy is the key. However you do it, just make sure you keep constant increds. If you're going sail blind TELL YOUR BNAVVER! Seriously guys, nothing more irritating than an ult sailor not even getting you a token a turn! lub joos |
